Exciting thing: The Rhodie Gardens

I’m procrastinating on my finals (Intro to Analysis, Physics E&M, AND Hum 110 over the span of 2 days), so I thought I might get you all excited about a little tidbit at Reed that you should probably take advantage of.

During O-Week, you’re probably going to have a dinner in the same vicinity as our seldom seen overlord John Kroger. This will probably be held in the Rhododendron Gardens, and you will spend about an hour or two being amazed at the beauty you will walk by during your rushed and valuable orientation week.

I did not go back to the gardens for a while, but you should really explore it. It’s got colorful ducks and a lake supplied by the streams in the canyon I think, and it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s extra special to trespass at night by hopping the gate and listening to whatever music you like with your friends as you deal with very nosy geese (It’s THEIR home).

Many people don’t experience this place more than once or even at all, and if you go to Reed, you should try this place out once or twice in the fall and the spring.

To get there, you go on 28th, I think, and it’s right by the golf course (Also cool/probably not legal to trespass on at night). You could get there by going to the West parking lot by FSM and the PAB and crossing the street.
