Does anyone know how difficult the test is that you take to exempt the foreign language requirement at Columbia? I take Spanish SL, not HL, so I can't use my IB score, and my school is refusing to offer me a late AP exam (the regular one conflicts with one of my IB ones). So is the Columbia one extremely difficult, or do a fair number of people exempt out of the language requirement by taking it?

You’re exempt from a good enough score on the AP test. Although I am in SEAS and never need to fulfill the requirement, from what I’ve heard the tests aren’t so bad. Just make sure you study a little beforehand and you should be fine. Still, the language courses at Columbia are really excellent. I’m actually going to take a language even though it is not required.
