there have been dropouts though, i know of one student who went home because they were very homesick after about 3 weeks or so.

for the workload, it is heavy, but time management is very important. and even though you finish by 11, you might not always go to sleep. you’ll might be talking to friends in the dorm, cutiedida knows this all too well :)

oh pea2014, long nights. Hey I tend to go to bed earlier than you though, staying up until 3 in the morning, tsk tsk

@pulsar: I will speak to urbanflop about this… though I can relate to the fact that being at Exeter is so busy, one tends to forget to post here… :)

i agree, the workload can get heavy at times, it can be pretty tough sometimes. but you get used to it after a while, learning how to balance time. i’ve learned to start with the homework that i have for classes the next morning, and then work from the back for the afternoon to make sure i get it all in since it forces me to not put it off and say oh its at the end of the day, i’ve got time. it’s all a matter of time management…which i will attempt to try next term :D

don’t use an average ssat percentile as a “template” though! a high ssat score is not the only thing that they will be looking at on your applications. be sure to spread yourself out and produce a consistently good application.

cutiedida, you got into BOTH schools?!?!?! I just feel lucky being able to apply! How did you get in? I need all the tips I can get. How’d you do on your SSAT? Interview? Essay? And anything else possible. Please help!

uniqueness doesn’t factor much to me, personally. what factors a lot is how much time and effort you put into your ECs and how passionate you are about them. don’t worry. just because a lot of people have the same ECs as you doesn’t mean that they share equal passion for them.

I was wondering what are some general questions asked during the admission interview? Also, is it possible to ask for a single room w/o a roommate? Do you have a roommate and do you think it’s better to have a roommate?

^ No. Why would Exeter be the right school for you? What you currently are involved in at you’re old school? What aspects of Exeter particularly appeal to you? Those sorts of things.
Yes you can request a single, I know of two girl’s dorms that are all singles (I am in one of them so I am in a single and it’s great) so you could request either of those or just a single in general. Requesting doesn’t necessarily guarantee it, however.

neatoburrito: I do have classes with your son and he is indeed a very unique kid.

I think in general Exeter looks for a group of intelligent children who are each unique and bring something to the community. That’s what makes this place so special :)
