My son got a packet yesterday from the above organization with eight application fee waivers in it. Problem is that my son already submitted his applications two weeks ago. All the schools he is applying to are on the ECO list!? How frustrating to have spent all that money when we could have used these fee waivers.

Anyone know what the deal is with this organization? Son #1 did not receive anything like this 3 years ago, so we have never heard of it. Anyone know if it is possible to get refunds on the application fees now that we have already paid and rec'd these waivers? Or why he rec'd them in the first place. The packet does not explain why he got them, but he is a Natl Merit semifinalist and AP Scholar.....

I got one too a few days ago. And of course, I paid for most of my colleges already. Thankfully, I didn’t pay for 2 yet. This is such a good offer, that I decided to apply to a few more colleges. So I’m using at least 5 of these really good gifts!

i got one too just yesterday and i’m going to ask my guidance counsellor tomorrow if they are legit. i do know that the orinceton feewaiver site talks about acceping these but i don’t know about refunds. sorry.

No, there is no application. It just appeared out of nowhere. But too late to be of any assistance. Very strange. If they want to be of any help, they ought to be more realistic about letting students know about what they are offering.

I haven’t heard of expanding college opportunities, but when my D (just finished her first year of college) was applying, I found information on the Common Application on how to get application fee waivers. Our guidance counselor was able to sign the waivers after I provided income information.

If you are low income, also look at Questbridge.
