Alright. About a week or so ago, I received in the mail a package from an organization from Expanding College Opportunities. It contained 8 fee waivers for choices from a large list of possible colleges, containing many that I am applying to (stanford, princeton, harvard, mit, etc), but what surprises me is the lack of information about ECO. The only two college websites that say in text that they accept the ECO fee waivers are Harvard and Princeton - none of the other colleges mention the waiver, yet the list in the my packet contains many other schools.

The lack of information about the organization is what surprises me. Two reputable schools appear to accept it, yet there is little to no information available on the web. Has anybody else gotten these fee waivers, and do they appear to be legitimate (as in did the colleges accept them)? Thank you. I just want to know -why- I got the waivers, and whether it's true that I can use them, and that they are not a scam.

This was for a study by Stanford and UVA profs, I think it is legit. They contacted me and then they fell off my radar. Dang, I could have used those fee waivers.
