can i get a bump?

For Kenyon and Macalester you would be fairly competitive. Those stats are similar to both DD1 and 2. One got $9K at Kenyon and the other a similar amount at Mac.

I doubt you will get any merit aid at NYU if you have no financial need. The only true merit aid they are giving these days are for talent (for audition/portfolio programs in Tisch and Steinhardt.) You probably can get in the vicinity of $15 - 20K from American.

@uskoolfish:
do you know how much nyu has been known to give at tisch?

thanks for the info!

See if you can get your math up above 700. Many colleges are not considering the writing section, so your good score won’t help you much. Math and CR are still the important parts of the SAT. Also, you should research individual schools, and see where your scores place you in the upper register of accepted students. You will probably not get aid if you are only at the 75th or 80th percentile. Most important: make sure you have a financial safety. Bottom line is that you CANNOT predict what any school will give you in merit aid.

My daughter was also NMSF, and she didn’t even get into Northwestern, let alone get merit money. You need to be realistic, and a good time to start is now! Best of luck to you!
