I've been accepted into the NYU Tisch Summer High School Program for Film...I was surprised I got in! I still feel like I don't know a lot about it yet, so can anyone share their experiences as a High School student spending the summer at a college (even if it was another program at another school). Or even any insight on the film major in general? Thank you!

My daughter did this program between her Junior and Senior year of High School. In her words, it was one of the most intensive and exciting times of her life. She still keeps in touch with kids she met in this program, some of whom went on to NYU. If film is your passion, you should attend this program. Can you imagine being in a group of similar high school students who are just as passionate about film as you are? You live in the same NYU dorms that a freshmen would live in and eat in and get a feeling for what it would be like to attend NYU in NYC. From a parents perspective, it is totally supervised, which means you can’t wander off on your own. But you will be sooo busy filming with your crew and coming up with ideas for your films, that you won’t even notice the time going by. Not only that, the experience will give you lots of ideas for those college admission essays and possibly a film to submit to a terrific film school like NYU Tisch. Good luck!
