Explaining College Hiatus to Competitive Transfer Admissions

Surprisingly the majority of my applications are due this year. That makes sense what you said about CC vs 4 year applicants; I don’t know if it makes a difference but my CC was voted the best in California and the fifth best in the US last year by Academic Influence. I also have pretty great ecs in honors society, multiple school leadership positions, music volunteer work, selective music programs, music internships, and passion projects/startups. Hoping those will make me stand out more…

I just googled a few. NYU and Miami are April 1, Belmont is July 1. These are for fall 2023 start. Are you sure you’re looking at the right deadlines for transfer? Transfer deadlines are much later than the deadlines for high school seniors. I cannot imagine a college with a deadline of Dec 31 or earlier for transfer to start in the fall.

OP has UCLA and CSUN on the list and transfer app deadlines are Nov 30, 2022. Also TAG applications for UCSB are due today which OP mentioned as a guarantee.
USC deadline is Dec 1, 2022 for some programs.

Here is the list from another discussion posted by OP.

NYU, USC, UCLA, UMIAMI, CSU Northridge, Berklee, Georgia University, Belmont, LA film, Fordham, New School, Loyola, Howard, Pace

UC and CSU’s transfer application deadline has always been in the fall. USC and University of Miamis music schools are also due this year; earlier than their standard transfer deadlines due to supplemental application/audition requirements.
