I dropped one of my AP class. I kind of regret it now and want to take it online. Would I have to explain to colleges the reason for taking it online?

No. But truly, think this through carefully. If you couldn’t manage a live classwhere you saw your teacher every day, and where you could discuss the classwork with your friends in person at any time you were together, what makes you think you can master this subject on your own in a distance ed format?

Get some feedback about online ed in general, and this specific course in particular before you commit. Please do not be the author of one more “Can I leave my bad online course grade out?” thread later this application year.
