I am interested in participating the visionaries program at Goddard, but know nothing about it.
Can anyone give me some details about this program?
What do the participants actually do? How much of time commitment is it? Is it helpful and interesting?

Visionaries
How do you define Leadership? What makes someone a leader? How are leadership qualities developed and nurtured? Students in this program will be given the unique opportunity to examine the critical developmental and situational elements of becoming a leader. They will meet face to face with NYC leaders from a variety of contexts: political, nonprofit, and corporate. Prior leadership experience is not necessary, but students should have an active interest in examining their own leadership styles and potential, and be willing to experiment with different leadership styles.

Hey everyone...I'm currently a freshman at NYU.
I'm in the All the World's a Stage Exploration group...which is right under the Visionaries...
From what I hear and see of them, they do a lot of "leadership" stuff, which is good for Stern students (I'm in Stern undergrad).
They also do some community service, and I've tagged along.
Explorations in general is terrific, just for the community.
Plus Goddard is the best dorm ever.

kyang, what is the "Writing New York" program like? That's the one I'm most interested in...and how often do you do things w/ your floor? thanks :)

Well, I don't know much about Writing New York, but I do know that they're a bunch of serious writers. Writing and All the World's a Stage (the one I'm in) were the only Explorations in Goddard that had a Writing the Essay class attached to it. For those of you who have been accepted, WTE is the first (and only if you're one of those lucky ones in CAS) writing class in MAP. It's hell, but I know my floor bonded a lot through it. From what I can see from bulletin boards and stuff, Writing NY does stuff about once a month, which is what Housing advertises. Explorations is a lot of fun, and I recommend applying for any of them, suited to your interest of course.
