<p>hey i got expelled for something alcohol/drug related and i'm trying to transfer to my state school back home...my biggest problem right now is that i don't really know how to explain it...</p>
<p>They ask me, "Has disciplinary action been initiated against you at any of the institutions attended?"
I have no idea what to write, except saying that it was a bad mistake...any suggestions?</p>
<p>Be honest because they'll find out anyway.</p>
<p>Be up front about taking responsibility rather than making it into a sob story. If it looks like you want sympathy, I think they'll look far more negatively on the incident than if you explain what happened with honesty and candor.</p>
<p>Explain what you've learned from it, what steps you've taken to become more responsible, and so forth.</p>
