So I received an e-mail today informing me that due my application for housing coming in late ( Im a transfer and the business school took until the middle of June to give me an answer), I would have to be placed in an extended capacity assigned dorm. Has anyone else received this, or had to stay in one of these rooms? Any info on this would really help
An “extended capacity assigned dorm”? Sounds like a temporary triple! They place an extra bed, dresser (and maybe a desk?) into a standard double. I believe the policy is that as capacity becomes available, during the year, folks in temp triples will be given the option to move into a standard double.
I spent my freshmen year (a long time ago…) in a Jennings temporary triple, and it wasn’t that bad.
It can also mean being grouped with other freshmen in graduate housing temporarily until spaces open up. They specifically said this at Preview this past week but assured us this would be temporary. You would NOT be rooming with graduate students- just in graduate housing with other undergraduates until regular undergraduate housing opens.
