extenuating circumstances?

nice, that rant answers 1 of 3 of the responses.

And oh, you are pretty bad at lying as well. Straight A at Cal? As a Spring Admit? Obviously you are pulling something here that is deemed impossible by most students. So please, my friend, why don’t you share with us how you managed straight A when this is in fact your very first semester.

Dim-witted, pretentious, lazy and lacking in ethics…holy ****, I didn’t know one person can possess so many bad traits.

well, crap, now he’s just going to respond to you (which will be easy since you’re going off-topic) and ignore my post.

maybe he means he’s CURRENTLY getting straight A’s in all of his classes

:D

You may be right. That hasn’t even crossed my mind because I honestly can’t comprehend how anyone can brag about what they attained on two midterms and a couple of homework.

no, I’m trying to say that your arguments aren’t very good and they allow him to avoid answering what sllamas1 and I said earlier.

I don’t see why you bother trying to argue with him. Rather, he needs someone to beat some sense into him…

that wouldn’t prove anything. Anyways I am kind of bored of this thread now.

wait, I lied. I am responding again. :P

I AM getting straight A’s this semester. I have an A, and an A- in my two classes I’m taking for a grade (and in the other class that is for P/NP I have a B+) and since my finals are all based off of the midterm I can easily get A’s on them as well. So, I’m sorry if you werent able to do this your first semester. I find Berkeley to be a lot more work than community college, but not anymore challenging in regards to the materials.

still only answering polygon…:frowning: I feel left out…

see what happens when I make a good argument??? People ignore me!!

Im sorry llama. I dont see your argument anywhere. you just said the same thing twice, and I already responded the first time. Its obvious we fundamentally disagree on things like this so I’m not going to talk in circles about a debate on morals.

Again, what is with the community college mentality? A- does not equate to pulling straight A. Did you know the norm of a history major is around a 3.5-3.6? Applying your logic to the argument, then close to 40% of the history major can proclaim to have graduated with straight A with a 3.7.

Besides, what are you going to do with your history major? Flip burgers for a living? You are right. I never managed anything close to straight A in EECS but you can sure bet on it that I wouldn’t be flipping burgers out of college.

Maybe this will help? I don’t know but it is worth a try.

Perhaps make a case that you were experiencing the onset of severe OCD, or any form of anxiety really, due to being in an unfamiliar environment away from home. This caused you to believe that you would have difficulty keeping up with your classes so you made the decision to put your most difficult class as P/NP.

After following the advice of a friend to see a medical professional, you went to see a doctor to talk about your anxiety issues. He prescribed you with anti-depressants and you now feel like you can do well in all of your classes because the anxiety, and subsequent lack of concentration, has since dwindled away.

If you need proof that you are indeed on medication then you should actually go to see a doctor and suggest to him that you are having problems with depression or anxiety. It should not be too hard to obtain a prescription for SSRI’s.

Thank you so much coolaid! I appreciate someone finally answering my question 3 pages in. haha. This is a very good idea and if I word it correctly it just might work. I actually used to be on SSRI’s a number of years ago when I was like 19 or 20 so I think this could really work. Thank you again. ( :

And Polygon, wow, you are just on a little grumpy rampage huh? Well, I’m not certain where you get your GPA average for my major, but whether that is true or not I still don’t see what that has to do with ANYTHING, nor do I see how that is a bad average. I believe a number of months ago there was a thread about how *ty of people transfer students were or something, and if that is how you feel you can open that thread up again and wack off to the poetic narcissism that it displays. Just because I don’t take an interest in the math or sciences that doesnt mean my life is doomed to fail, it just means my life is going in a different path. In case it really concerns you I plan to do Teach for America for a few years after I get my BA and then head on to law school, which is common for many people in the social sciences. Even if I wasn’t planning to do that and I did want to stop at my BA it doesn’t concern someone like you enough to warrant such hostility. I’m sorry if your life is so frustrating that you feel the need to * on everyone’s breakfast, but despite what you think, your **** aint no pop tart so stop handing it out.

btw, I’m a chick, so stop calling me a “he” or “dude”. Such assumptions shows a lot about the kind of person you are.

“someone finally answering my question 3 pages in” ??? Really?

Wow then I change my side to support polygon’s hostility. Maybe he is right that people with that mentality only care about themselves till their death.

I’m sorry gold3n I’m confused. Did you answer my question before? If you did, I did not see it and I apologize. However, from what I did notice of most that replied, if not all, is they decided to just berate me with lecture or worse try to insult me with cricked arguments about my past that held no real value. I truly apologize if i missed your response and will go back and look.

oh yeah! i remember your response. I guess I just forgot since I was bombarded with all this other negativity. I think I did respond to you though right? Well, anyways thank you for letting me know of your similar experience and I will update you guys on how this all turns out if I decide to petition. Thank you!
