Extra Credit

How much extra credit do your teachers give?

I know my old American History teacher from last year, he gave so much extra credit. One girl only got the 11th highest grade in his class one time, and she had like a 136%.

Well, my math teacher used to give 1 pt EC each time someone volunteered to go up to the board and explain a problem. That's something I did like everyday (there wasn't a chance to do so everyday; I actually got picked less because I volunteered so much). I ended up with 107 before the Final but 105 after that (even though I got 100 on the Final) due to the way the grade was weighted.

My other teachers hardly gave EC. Once in awhile there was like a 5-10 pt EC task.

wow can you say grade inflation?

Yes, psycho.
Psycho_Paroxysm and psychopath1. lol
Grade inflation indeed. My math teacher told me I would have a 99% without grade inflation, though.

Hmm, my teachers don't exactly have extra credit...My french teacher lets you do a little at the end of the quarter, but it would only help if you had to bump up your grade by about 1%.

In the math classes, they give either 2% or 4% extra to your grade at the end of the quarter, as a way to "factor in homework points" that they don't really give.

We don't have extra credit in any class.

my [advanced] teachers don't give bonus pts anymore, because 5 years ago, there was a crazy smart overacheiving asian class, and everyone ended up with 110%. The colleges called with concerns about grade inflation.

but two girl got into harvard. =)

My algebra teacher almost never gave extra credit. All my other teachers did, though.

I ended up with a 132 on my Final Science report on the Human Brain in 8th grade.

Too bad that was the only class... :p

no extra credit at all. no problem.

Basically none.... :x Not that I think teachers should give extra credit, but some consistency would be nice.

We don't get extra credit in any classes but on our math tests we are given a bonus question and if we answer it correct we get extra credit on that test.

Last year my math teacher gave us like 10 possible points of extra credit in the entire year (when we had probably at least 1000 points anyway). Any other teacher, it was like a one-time thing and only for 1-2 points or so.
