extra curriculars

I haven’t really looked at an application yet, but I’m just curious about when applying to college, if you only list extra curriculars that you did in high school, or if you should include honors and ecs from middle school. Thanks

Just from high school. The only thing that people sometimes do is say that they've been playing piano for 9 years or whatever so they were obviously playing in middle school. Anything else isn't really relevant unfortunately.

Of course, if you've been playing violin since sixth grade and have continued into your high school years, you put it down on your applications. However, if you were on the debate team in eighth grade, quit after graduating to high school and never took it up again, it would useless to include it on your applicaton-- this is what I've been told by my counselors, at least. After all, colleges don't ask to see what you got in seventh grade English, right? If they don't care to see your grades in seventh grade, I highly doubt it would be a necessary or even welcome sight to see your middle school ECs listed on your college applicatons.

Best wishes!
