Extra material

I want to send something extra that shows a big part of who I am. It is not an essay and will be extremely quick to look at(mostly pictures) and probably even enjoyable. It will be sent in a 8X11 yellow evelope.

I know Stanford advises against extra material, but my instict tells me to do this. And since this admission process is so unpredictable and Stanford is a reach for everybody I might as well give it a shot.
Alumnis and acceptees, what is your say on this?

Do you want to risk lowering your (approx.) 10% chance of getting in RD as a deferred EAer? I personally think it's worth it, but only if it's some really good stuff.

I didn't apply ED. Also, is it really that bad? I mean, its not like Im sending in an essay which takes time to read, just something they can glance over and enjoy and while they review my app. It also shows one of my passions so its not like Im sending it in to impress them with fancy artwork with no substance(and Im not even sending anything fancy)

Im probably going to do it anyway, but would like to listen to a few opinions. thanks for yours

They might not like it, but I think that the worst they will do is just throw it away. If it's really that important - and very different than anything someone else might send in, then go for it. But you might want to check with a college counselor or something. Good luck!

it might be easier for us to judge if we know what it is lol.
