I signed up for the extra night before orientation (+$50) and I was wondering if it covered lodging (as in I get to sleep in a dorm for the extra night since I don't live near LA and I'm not going to fly through the night to arrive for the orientation in the morning) or if it only covered food. Thanks guys!

I’m fairly confident it includes lodging. I’m actually uncertain whether it includes food.

It definitely covers lodging.

I did this last year. Yes lodging, no food for the extra night. Just go into Westwood for food. Chipotle, California Pizza Kitchen, In-n-Out, and some other local restaurants.

Yup, I did it too, and though you can’t get breakfast at the dining hall for the first morning, they have tables of continental-type stuff near the registration area.

Do we have parking?

Parking is definitely not included in the early night fee or in the regular orientation fee, but I don’t see why you couldn’t park somewhere on campus

Ughh guess that means we have to pay. Last time I visited for 2 hours I shelled out 7 bucks. Don’t even want to know what overnight’s going to cost me. Hahaha

I’m doing the early arrival and got an email from UCLA saying that the parking cost would be $20 total.

What time are we supposed to be there for the extra night? I’m planning to take Amtrak to Westwood so I need to know what time to take the train so I can get there on time.

6 pm

wait, 6pm? I thought it was 8pm because that’s what the Orientation site on MyUCLA says…

I got this email from UCLA: Dear transfer student:
You have opted in for “early arrival” for your Summer Orientation session. Your confirmation email may have erroneously indicated your arrival time as 8:00 pm, however we have organized events to begin at 6:00 pm the night before your session.

I should’ve clarified. I’m a freshman. Still 6pm?

I called to sign up for early orientation and the woman on the phone told me that check-in begins at 8pm the night before.
