Extra recommendations??

Is It possible/correct to send an extra recomendation via mail?or should I ask my interviewers first? (Already interviewed)

It is possible, and some schools offer a form. In my daughter’s case, we used a form from a school she didn’t apply to as a supplemental recco (from her science teacher). That said, I think some folks might call it overkill, so really think about what value the extra recco is going to add to your application.

Many schools offer advice on this point on their online application portal. When in doubt, call the school’s admissions office to ask, or send your interviewer an email.

I tend to think recommendations which you do not see are more powerful than recommendations which pass through your hands.

I actually just got a reply from Exeter, and they said it was totally fine. As long as you remember to still turn in the required rec’s then your fine.

I agree with Periwinkle that schools give more weight to rec’s that come directly from the recommender, and that you do not see beforehand. Some schools do not want supplemental recs (or say they don’t), while others we encountered, PEA among them, said “anything that gives a fuller picture of your student is helpful.”

FWIW, I assumed that the OP was going to give the additional recco form to the teacher with postage paid envelope.

Thank You Everyone  !
