<p>Hi. I am right now applying to some colleges. I have been filling out the form and have reached the part of extracurricular activities. I am in a couple clubs, have done and internship and some community service</p>

<p>but the major thing that I do with my time when I am not in school is working in my family's store. I dont get paid. I just try to help out my family. I work there about 20 hours a week. In addition during the summer I worked there about 6-8 hours a day. </p>

<p>I was wondering if I should put this on my application even if it is not an actual real job and I dont get paid.</p>

<p>You absolutely should put that on your application. That is very important. It doesn’t matter whether or not you got paid for your work … the point is, you have pitched in & helped your family, you are responsible, you know the value of hard work, etc.</p>
