Extracurricular "Elaboration" on Common App

<p>A lot of people on CC are calling the extracurricular blurb on the common app an "essay," but personally, 1000 characters is waaaay too short to constitute and essay. Short answer is more like it.</p>

<p>Except when it comes time to decide which extracurricular I want to write about, I am in a pickle. I have a club that I LOVE so much (and of which I am president), but I also have an extremely quirky extracurricular activity, which is the art of Chinese calligraphy, which I have done for around 7 years now, but only daily in the summer.</p>

<p>Which one would you recommend I write about, and why?</p>

<p>I’d really recommend the one you’re most passionate about. That passion shows through your answer, and I think college admission officers will like that more.</p>
