Hi, I'm a sophmore and I am very confused about what to do for ecs. Last year i has 2 major activities. Debate and crew (rowing). Crew took up so much of my time. Practices 6 days a week, 3 times starting at 4AM. It was ok but I didn't like it that much. a huge commitment and exhausting. It was a year-round sport. I didn't really get along with the team and long story, but i quit before championships in the last week of the season. (Bad of me, i know.) Anyway, now i don't know if i should still do crew, maybe a different team. i was never very good at it but my parents think you need 2 years of a sport to get it to college. I personally would like more volunteering and debaate, my passion takes a lot of time. What should I do? I really appreciate any responses to this very long post.

continue debate. definitely

my ECS for highschool were: (we start from 8th grade)

Art Club: Member for 5 years (President for past 3 years)
School Newspaper: Member for 2 years (Art Editor for past 2 years)
Asian Culutral Society: Member for 4 years (Executive Board member for past 2 years)
Wall-painting Community service program: Member for 2 years (President for past 2 years)
Student Government: Member for 4 years (publicity Secretary for past 2 years)

Go for the volunteering and debare if you're interested in it. Don't waste such a large chunk of time doing something you really don't enjoy, because you might not get into a good college even if you had done the 2 years of crew. However, in my school district, you are required to take 2 years of PE, and if that's the case for you, doing a 2nd year of crew (i'm sure) would cover that.

do some clubs
I am going to be a soph too
and last year I took MUN, FBLA, track and field
this year I will also do volleyball, and volunteering at the hospital

thanks for the help!
