Extracurriculars Essay help

So for this essay, I already started writing about my experience working/volunteering at a day camp and afterschool. Is this just too incredibly generic?

Would writing about how save money each year to go on a foreign trip with my school work for this section of the application? I feel this essay would be a lot stronger, but does it necessarily fit with the theme?

bring up my post!

I think it might. Did you save money by getting a part time job or fundraising or something?

Unless you can focus in on specific interactions at the camp and make it stand out in some way, the topic you have now is rather generic and overused. The second one would be better, in my opinion.

But if this is the 1000 character essay, I wouldn’t stress on it too much.

All my money from being a camp counselor went towards the trip.

Which essays are the most important then? Theres this first essay, then the second common app essay, and then all the supplement essays.

I’d say def. your common app essay is #1, next your supplement essays, then the EC one. I think its just there to prove you care about something.
