Is taking part in the International Maths,Science,Computer Olympiad a good extra curricular activity.
(BTW i got a state rank of 30 )
Well can you be specific? Is it REALLY international or just name?
Yeah, its really international.
Yes it is.
That is an EXCELLENT curricular activity.Did you get any medal? Did u have to go through national competitions toget in International level?
Because most IOs are taken after national olympiads
nope no medals
I know at least, for the IMO, most countries have selection tests which are often “easier” olympiads or other tests, and it is very difficult to qualify for the IMO from the U.S. As a result, the U.S. usually gets six silver/gold medals every year.
So yes I’d say, in the majority of cases, participating in an international olympiad will look impressive (and it is fun at the same time).
Those are VERY impressive if you mean being a part of your country’s team. Your comment about a state rank of 30 confuses me though. Could you clarify please?
We have school ranks, state ranks, international ranks.
State rank means that I was ranked 30th out of all the people who gave the IMO.
You mean the stuff conducted by SOF??
yeah
Whoops I must’ve gotten confused.
I thought you referred to the International Math Olympiad (https://www.imo-official.org/), which appears to be different from this IMO (http://www.sofworld.org/imo).
Because if you ranked 30th out of everyone who participated in the International Math Olympiad, that would’ve been super impressive.
