extracurriculars

I know extracurriculars are really important on your medschool application. Currently, I am doing research and volunteering and shadowing But is it necessary for me to join a club or doing something on top of that?

I would, but don’t do anything you can’t commit a decent amount of time to (within reason). If you join a group or club it’s best to be involved in it as much as possible. I think med schools are one of the only things where unrelated EC’s are of any value on an application. If nothing else it will give you something besides science and medicine to have fun with.

It’s a good idea, not just for med school apps, but for you in general, to have fun! If you can’t find a good club to join, have a hobby or two, or three.
