Math IIC = 790 (740, first attempt)
Math IC = 740
Bio M = 670
US Hist = 660
Chemistry = 710
What should I do with these horrible SAT II scores??
I’m looking at schools such as:
-UNC-CH
-Duke
-NC State
-Elon
NC State’s Engineering program is actually quite prestigious and competitive
and Duke and UNC are extrememly competitive
Elon is a national-level school as well…
But I don’t think i can do better on Bio M and US…
im still taking:
Physics
Spanish
World History
Literature (maybe… my english is quite crappy and its 2nd language)
by next year
Will getting 750+ on these tests make up for the lower 650-700 scores???

With a 2.0 sophmore year...
What I meant to say earlier is that you shouldn't stress over those SATs, the Math and Chem scores are right in the range of the schools you listed. Why are you taking so many? You did yourself a disservice by going above and beyond the requirement, landing yourself with two 600 range tests. Thats not bad, but your app would have looked better without them. Schools will probably only consider your top few scores though.

Exactly, sroll2237. Stop being whiny and melodramatic. They'll only look at your top 2 SAT II's, to my knowledge, and even if they saw them all, they are far from "horrific". Don't blow a gasket over it.

I hate when people say **** like that. Some people would die for your scores so its best to just be like "are my SATs good enough for these schools?" Besides, you probably just wanted a couple "oh, don't worry" posts.

Okay, for some perspective...
I got:
740 Writing
700 Biology
680 Math II

and I got accepted to MIT.

As long as your scores are competitive (which they are) the admissions office thinks pretty much nothing more of them and looks at your application as a whole. If I were you I'd avoid coming across as the type of student who obsesses over filling in little bubbles... because I guarantee you won't be doing much of that as an engineering major.

please dont say that they are Horrific. 1000s of students would die to have those scores. just say you are not satisfied with your scores. if you have to, take them over in june, october, and november.

hhahaha...u made me laugh. people like this always do.

chill man seriously. i got into berkeley with a 640 math2c and 620 world hist. and im international so it's even harder. give yourself a break. eyeroll

careful with world history, it isnt as easy as it sounds.

World History? That thing was a breeze. I never took AP World, took regular World in the 10th grade, took the SAT II for World in end of Junior year with NO prep and still pulled a 740.

Mostly factual recall. Now Math and the science tests.. whoo.. not my cup of tea.. =(..

It's pretty hard for me to not see this post as a backhanded attempt to brag. You couldn't possibly think that a 790 is a bad score; or your others for that matter. I find it hard to believe that you are that naive. While i hate to pass judgment on someone else, I think a lot of us see a covert attempt to indulge in some self approbation, albeit at the expense of others who can't feel good about their 400's or 500's after reading this post.

Sorry if I'm judging you wrong, but you are either egotistical or very ignorant about what a good score is; neither option is all that attractive. The fact that you are only 16 years old and you still think these scores are horrific, furthers my skepticism. Also, it's hard to believe that anyone with over 700 posts on this board would consider your scores horrific.
