Extremely Urgent Question Regarding Possible Incompete IGETC possible rescission from UC Berkeley

Hi Guys, long story short, I’m freaking out right now because Cal just got in contact with me that they did not receive my IGETC certificate that I ordered with my transcript back in June. I’m in the process of finding out whether it was a simple clerical error or I have missed some requirements to get my IGETC certificate.

The only issue that I can think of regarding my IGETC is my foreign language requirement, I turned in my transcript from foreign HS and I was told from the person that took my transcript that since I completed more than 2 years of formal HS education in a foreign country that it will satisfy my IGETC requirement, so I just left at that. Now I’m thinking that maybe there was some filing error and maybe my transcript never made it into my file (there wasn’t any English words on my document, I fear that the clerk at record office might have issue filing it)

I’m trying to get in touch of my admission officer and so far I haven’t heard back from them.

My question is , is it likely that UC Berkeley will rescind my admission because of this error?

Any input is appreciated thank you !!

Talk to your CC about IGETC certification.

If you are worried about the possibility of admission rescission, ask UCB directly.

Assuming that you will be in L&S…

It does looks like UCB L&S requires new transfer students to have completed R&C, QR, and foreign language requirements before entry if IGETC is not certified (example: http://web2.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=2&sia=BERKELEY&ria=UCB&ia=UCB&oia=BERKELEY&aay=16-17&ay=16-17&dora=MATH ). So if you cannot get your CC to certify IGETC for you, then you need to see if you can show fulfillment of the L&S foreign language requirement (see https://ls.berkeley.edu/foreign-language ).

@ucbalumnus thanks for the reply! I was able to contact my CC regarding my IGETC status and it turned out to be a clerical error that they forgot to look at my other CC transcript. So now everything seems to be in order.

Thanks again for helping out!
