F in Math

Right now I have a F in Trigonometry Honors, and my grade seems to continue downward. Teacher won't help, when the 2:20 bell rings, she's out the door. Ask students to tutor, even offer money, and still even they aren't willing to help. What option is left? I'm not aiming for an A, but just at least a D so I can get the credit, and go to the college I want. Because if I don't pass the class, I only get 3.5 credits of math instead of the 4 needed.

Look elsewhere for a tutor.......is there a community college near you?

if you've got money, get some prep books on trig. Can you expound on what is the biggest obstacle for you?

I just realized, with this tutor list my counselor gave me. It shows a list of tutors both students and teachers. The funny thing is that the teachers charge you for tutoring, and what's even better is that my teacher is on that list. So in a sense I have to pay my teacher to teach me.

*PS, were looking at like $10/hr too.

so.......for $10 you get the exam questions privately? Sweet.

Yeah, what are you guys learning now that you find difficult?

You should get another tutor if you do not like you teacher's style, if that is the reason for your F. Otherwise I cannot tell what may be the cause.
I am not finding anything difficult now.

Most teachers are not permitted to tutor their own students for money. You will probably have to hire one of the other teachers on the list. Ten dollars an hour is dirt cheap. My daughter's math tutor costs $60/hour.

Good lord, at $60/hr I'll do whatever it takes to get a degree in math so I can tutor :)

Yeah, $10/hr is rediculous. At my school teachers get $80-90ish/hr to tutor kids...Mostly math teachers and they mostly only do like a few hours a week, but still, that's some good money.

A few of my teachers come to school early, like an hour to help kids, and another one will stay an hour or more after school to help people. I guess some people are in it for the money a lot more than others. These are science/math teachers.

Search online for help sites, thats whats saving my ass in self study courses.

All of the tutors in my school do so for a modest fee-$5/hr. However, we have tutoring programs that run from 1500-2200 every day, and the teachers do so for free.
