FA starts to annoy me

OK. I am hearing this really annoying rumor that if I dont get emails from colleges, emails that notify the deadline for financial aid, it's most likely that they already rejected me?!!!

I mean this rumor makes sense b/c if you are rejected already, why would colleges want your financial pakage form, right? So, they dont even send you the notifying email.

I applied to 11 colleges, and so far I got only 5 notifications that tell you the deadline is bla bla.

Some of colleges didnt send me any kind of email when they have FA deadline on 2/1/12.

This starts to really annoy me. Colleges should at least let prospective studnets know what is due.

^bump bump bump bump

You’re bumping 4 minutes after you post???

This is your problem. Colleges already HAVE let you know when things are due. That information is on their web site. Some schools might help out more by sending E-Mails but they don’t have to. It’s up to the student to keep track of the dates.

If you need to be constantly reminded of deadlines, you will have some major problems in college.

Of course I know the deadline, and I am aware of it.
What I really want to know is that do colleges send notification emails to those who have potential to actually getting accepted. (but not notified until the early April)

I am really anxious, because if the rumor is true, it’s really unfair.

What gave you the idea life was fair?

Well if you get accepted at five of eleven you still get to make a choice in the spring so what is the problem. You can sit around and over analyze every little thing or take a deep breath and wait and see how things over which you have zero control play out.

Yea but I didnt get any email from my dream school…I will upload my FA requirements anyway and see what happens. I was worried too much…
Maybe I should relax a little bit and just wait.

Thank you, though.

OP - I think you are trying to ask if there is any correlation between receiving such an email and your chances of acceptance. My guess - highly doubtful.

Yepp like I said it’s a rumor that kinda makes sense, but I’ll just wait and see how things turn out since I have no control of it.

and thanks  There’s probably no correlation…I hope

There is NO correlation.

We saw NO correlation between emails from colleges and deadlines with regard to acceptances. HOWEVER, once our kids WERE accepted, the schools did send reminders about some of the deadlines for things…but this was for already accepted students.

To be honest, we didn’t rely on the colleges for deadline information. We found it on the websites and then submitted EVERYTHING early.
