Facebook etiquette

Hey everyone, great forum.
I have somewhat of an odd question:
I recently joined facebook and the dartmouth '11 group. However, I'm not sure about the protocols involved for friending people. While I don't want to seem pushy (by randomly friending people) I don't want to be antisocial either.

Any tips?

yea don't randomly friend people you don't know ... maybe people from nearby towns if you want ... but really, if you don't know them then it's sorta creepy.

honestly, sitting in front of your computer making "friends" doesn't make you social, and having a lot of facebook friends doesn't make you social either. It's actually meeting these people during orientation, DOC trips, on your hall, etc. that will actually be useful.

meh you can be friends with me. I'll pm you my name.

I wouldnt friend random people... it's really awkward to meet people during orientation and be like, umm, aren't we facebook friends?

I suggest waiting until you get to campus and making friends the regular way.

ehh, we did the whole facebook route and ended up hooking up at Dimensions... it was pretty funny.

This one girl was like... "OMG! You're that non-Asian kid!" I laughed. (haha)

But yeah... I agree with "rightnotleft" (hopefully his political stance, lol). Unless some people whore themselves to you (like Ammar) in which case, it's okay.

wow. that's pretty slick

? (10 char)

"ehh, we did the whole facebook route and ended up hooking up at Dimensions... it was pretty funny."

That. I was admiring out loud

"I agree with "rightnotleft" (hopefully his political stance, lol)"

sorry, it's not.

but yea, make real friends, not facebook ones.

are you implying i am a facebook whore steve?

hmm... why would you think I implied it? Was I not explicit? :)

Russian, eh?

true.

Fudge you.

AYY MADERLAANND
