The 2005-2006 is for students in the graduating class of 2006, correct? I'm thrown off because freshman year of college for class of '10 has always been referred to as the 2006-2007 school year. Right now I'm a little confused, however, and I want to make certain that I'm sending in the right one...haha...So, if it asks me what degree I'll be starting in the 2005-2006 year I should say "Bachelor''?

Isnt fafsa not out yet for the class of '10? I thought it comes out Jan 1

You can't file the FAFSA until January 1 for the class of 2010.

The 2005-2006 FAFSA was for students now attending college, for this present year. If you are applying for next year, it will be for 2006-2007, and that is not yet available.

seriously? oops. Thanks guys:)

It is available in your GC office, library, or from schools themselves. You can fill it but can not file until after Jan 1.

If you want a downloadable copy of 2006-2007 FAFSA: go to

If you want a downloadable copy of 2006-2007 FAFSA web worsheet: go to

The difference between the downloads is that although the questions are the same, the questions on the web worksheet follow in the same order as the questions are presented online. Remember, you cant actually file until January 2006, but you can fill one of the above out to get ready. Also, only use these downloads as drafts, DO NOT COMPLETE THEM AND MAIL IN.

My D will enter undergrad as freshman. Thanks fully we are financially sound now. Does she have to fill in Fafsa irrespective of whether she applies for aid??
If she does not fill in fafsa and if the finacial situation deteriorates can she then apply fafsa next year ?
appreciate your response.

Yes, you can apply next year if you did not do it this year. I would suggest to apply anyway, it is not as painful as it seems. Also some scholarships are based on financial info.
