FAFSA and Unsupported Browsers

I tried logging in to the 2010-2011 form for the first time and I can only get to the screen where it asks me to put in my name, SSN, and a password. When I try to go to the next screen, I get a message "You have entered an invalid response for 'PIN'". There is no PIN box.

The government employees in Live Help blame it on unsupported browsers and operating system and essentially told me -- too bad -- we're not going to fix it. I tried IE 8 with XP and Windows 7 as well as the latest version of Firefox with both systems plus Chrome. Same error for all.

The gov employees told me I have to use IE6 with XP or IE8 with Vista. I should not be using Windows 7 at all.

Anybody else have this issue?

I use Firefox on XP and get the unsupported browser warning, but I do see the PIN box and so can continue. None of your browsers let you see the box?

I used Google Chrome, and was able to move right through the FAFSA after the warning page.

No box, and this happens on several computers. I’ll try another and see what happens.
