My school’s financial aid has put a hold on my financial aid requesting to see my HS Diploma? How common is this?
Well…then, you have to send them your HS diploma. Your college won’t be expecting payment before that.
ETA…are you already a college freshman? Your posts from September 2014 seem to indicate that you are currently a college student. That being the case, your college should already have proof that you completed HS…if you did.
Did you?
Why not walk over to the financial aid office and ask them.
Hmmm ok thanx
Edit: Transferred College, New Application, New Assessments, New Fafsa Application, New Student
I am surprised that they are asking for a copy of the diploma, when they should be asking for an official transcript from your high school indicating the discharge and graduation date. Either way, if you want the money, you have to give them what they are requesting.
If you are a transfer, you would also be providing your college transcript.
Are you transferring from a school that has open enrollment (anyone can take college courses).
Regardless…contact your HS, and have your final HS transcript sent, but call first and see if this will satisfy the requirement.
Clearly, met here is something in your record that questions whether…or not…you completed HS.
In NYS, a transfer who didn’t have a degree from the first college would have to show proof of high school equivalency at the 2nd college: the TASC/GED, a high school diploma, a letter of substantial equivalency, etc. It’s just routine paperwork to satisfy a state regulation. I don’t think it’s a big deal. Just ask your high school to send a copy of your diploma to the college.
