Im currently filling out my FAFSA for 2013-2014 and i came across this question which befuddled me

" Would you like for us to submit the student's information to Selective Service if you have not already done so?"

I know about the Selective Service and I haven't registered yet, if I click "yes" would i still need to register? Or would that automatically register me?

If you check yes then you will automatically be registered when you hit 18.

I suggest that you do hit yes, you won’t receive federal aid if you’re not registered. It’s not like there’s a draft, if anything we have a professional soldier class developing in the U.S.

If you’re looking at work-study, I know for a fact that the paperwork includes a SS determination.

Thnx guys… I registered but it says that I’m already registered

You should check your status at [Selective Service System: Welcome](http://www.sss.gov/default.htm)
