At the time that I filed my FAFSA, I had just become U.S. citizen and hadn't had a chance to update it with SS. That's why my SAR has that note. I contacted all my schools and sent them my naturalization certificate and they accepted it. Last week I also went to my SS office to update my citizenship status. My question is, how do I make that note on my SAR disappear? I'm applying to several scholarships that require a copy of my SAR, and it just doesn't look good with that note. I'm about to update my FAFSA, and say once I re-submit it to the colleges, will my SAR be verified and updated to reflect my new citizenship?
Thank you!

Did they tell you when the database be updated?

@4kidsdad, the lady at the SS office said it should be updated the next morning. I just called FAFSA and they said nope they still can’t confirm my U.S. citizenship. however I haven’t resubmitted my FAFSA so I guess that’s the problem??

Try resubmitting, and see what happens.

But really, if you have to send a copy of the SAR, you can just attach a copy of your naturalization certificate as well. The people at those organizations have seen this kind of stuff every single year.
