FAFSA Transfer Questions

Hey all, I'm a sophomore and considering transferring from DePaul University to Northwestern for fall 2014 and had a few questions before I fill out my FAFSA seeing as its finally January.

Now technically I have yet to submit my NW application as Im working on it, so should I first submit my application and then my FAFSA or would the order no matter. Im simply trying to get my financials in order asap.

Secondly, seeing as I'm not sure if I will transfer yet, Im just applying to see my options specifically when it comes to the financial aid. (Because at Depaul I have a full ride due to my EFC being really low)
So would putting 2 colleges on my FAFSA form reduce the amount I can potentially receive for another year at DePaul?

Lastly how do I fill out the FAFSA for both DePaul and NW, is simple as adding the school code?

Im completely lost~~
Thank you!

You can put as many schools on your FAFSA as you want — I doubt that the financial aid office is looking to see which schools a current student listed (I know I don’t have time to do that). If it makes you more comfortable, you can put one school on your initial FAFSA, then once it is processed, you can update your FAFSA - remove the first school & put the second school code on the FAFSA. Just remember that if you have to make any corrections, you will need to make corrections to both transactions.
