FAFSA Verification

<p>I've filled out a FAFSA every year since 2002. ( for 2002-2003 school year where I took one college class) The only year that my FAFSA wasn't picked for verification was 2003-2004. I thought that verification is random.
I'm a 21 year old Independent Student ( I was a ward of the court until age 18), so I'm assuming that may be why I keep getting picked.</p>

<p>Can someone offer any insight into the verification process?

We submit verification every year.</p>

<p>I notice that some schools do not ask for taxes and W2s. That seems strange, I would think all would want them. Do they just assume you will send, should we call the schools that don't ask, or just send current taxes to all schools on the FAFSA?</p>
