Failed but will transfer to Midd in future, any thought?

Hi I'm an int'l rejected by Middlebury for the Class of 2015 this year, but I still wanna go to Middlebury so badly. I love everything about Midd that I cannot really replace it with other colleges. Now I'll be attending a LAC in the east coast and am thinking about transferring. I know I should give it my best shot in the college that I'll be attending, but the thought that I may never be able to go to Midd after undergraduate years pains me:(

I've checked Midd's website information on transfer admission but cannot find anything recent...no further infor on transfers' applications at all. Plus Midd seems to accept no transfers for fall 2010 at all! Will it still be the case for 2011 and 2012? And can anyone tell me the difference between fall and spring transfers( will either way affect my chance)?

I know transfer admission for Midd can be even more competitive, so what can I do to enhance my chance? I'll retake SAT(hope to get above 2300), take SAT2(languages and maths) and probably learn to do some sports, and of course I need to get a GPA of 3.8. So any further strategy on transferring to Midd? Or anyone on CC who, like me, is thinking about transferring to Midd?

Any advice and infor truly appreciated!!

Midd only takes transfers when students drop out, so the high retention rate limits transfers. They also are more likely to take 2 year college grads with excellent grades who are financially disadvantaged, because there is a federal mandate for this.
Other than that, I would call admissions when the dust settles(after the waiting list is done) and ask what you can do.

Hi Sammyw-I’m pretty sure the competition is much fiercer in transferring to Midd. If you wanna transfer for fall admission, you will have to complete your materials before March 1st,2012 while doing great in the first 6 months of your freshman year in order to maintain a decent GPA. You have to do great in class so that you can ask your professor to write recs for you. With all the work you need to do in just six months and that you wanna retake SAT, you have chosen really a hard way…good luck anyway.
