Failed IB by getting a 28 but 11 in HL's. Sent for remarking. but offer WITHDRAWN! HELPP

Hi guys,

So I was offered a place at UBC but after my IB results came back, I dropped 6 points and ended up failing IB because I didnt get the 12 points in the HL’s and my offer got taken away. UBC was the only Uni that deposited and confirmed that I will be going, I also got into Purdue and Northeastern but did not deposit.

2 of my subjects have been sent for remarking, in hope to get that 1 point. I have the oppurtunity to appeal to UBC in the next 14 days, which I can only do If i can get that 1 point. I have also mailed both purdue and northeastern asking them if my offer is still available. What are the chances that, that will work out?

If all 3 options fail, what other choices do I have to go to college this August/September?
Please help!

No, odds are that the NEU and Purdue offers are no longer available.
Your only other choices are to take a gap year or go to community college. If you live in California it’s a good option since you can transfer to UCs, if you live elsewhere, not so much.
How long does the rescoring take?

Both NEU and Purdue said can’t. Although Buffalo said yes.
UBC got to me saying I need 2 more points to get into UBC and am now not restricted by a 14 day appeal period, but I doubt Ill get the 2 out of 2 points.

So, should I go to Buffalo? I even ahve a $5000 scholarship there.
If i go there, how hard is transferring out?

It looks like you are an international student. Am I correct about that?

How badly do you need scholarship money in order to be able to pay for your education? Is Buffalo affordable for you?

Do not count on being able to transfer. But if you think you could be happy at Buffalo for all for years, you can afford Buffalo, and you want to start college this fall, it is perfectly fine to start there. Most students end up being happy at their universities and change their minds about transferring out.

Are you talking about SUNY Univ at Buffalo?

I am an international student and money is not a problem. SUNY Univ at Buffalo (yes) is 19,000ish but I received merit-based aid which makes it about 14000ish, but I dont need the scholarship. I was ready to go to Northeastern as well which is about 70,000.
