As stated in the title, I failed on the AP econimics class. I got accepted by the Fordham a week ago. I am just afraid whether they would withdraw the acceptance due to the failure of my class. I have heard some horrible story somewhere. Beside that, I perform very well on other classes, such as AP statistics, AP calculus.
Thanks...

I don’t know how you fail AP Economics and do well in AP Calc/Stats, but I would definitely call up admissions and let them know about it. Is there any reason for the failing grade? Can you remake it/get it changed somehow? A failing grade is a serious matter and I am sure Fordham will question your acceptance. Don’t freak out, but I would first call up admissions and explain to them before they get your midyear report and see the F.

Flunking a class can be an issue. Our HS distributes to seniors a packet of letters from colleges (names of students are wiped out) which recind acceptances, demand written explainations of why senior years grades have dramatically dropped etc. The school pounds in into student’s heads no to slip too much school-wise. I would talk to your HS guidance counselor and see how he/she suggests handling it. Maybe try to get some help in econ. and pull out a reasonable grade by year end. And its kind of a cop out but maybe it is possible to withdraw from the econ. class and not have it show up on your mid-year report? Of course then you may have to explain to the college why you dropped an AP class. But just don’t ignore the problem, figure out how to make it better. This can cause a problem not just for Fordham, but any school you are applying to.
