Will failing my AP Econ class get me rejected everywhere? >__>

Only got one C in my life, which was Honors Physics. I'm a journalism/english major anyway, and looking at my transcript it's clear I'm a humanities/arts kinda guy. So that was no big deal, I figured I'd survive.

Now as a senior I have A's and a couple of B's, A's in AP English, business law, journalism, religion. A little over 85 in college algebra and media.

So not too shabby at all! That is until we factor in my economics grade...

57 >___>

My ACT's are solid, my extracurriculars are amazing.

But will that 57 just ruin everything? No dropping the class isn't an option. And I did the math... the ONLY way I can pass the semester is to get an 83 on the midterm. That would give me a 65 for the semester. Still a D, but it's passing.

Now my problem is that I'm extremely paranoid. Will that 55 completely negate everything I've done? Schools I'm applying to include Northeastern, Boston U, Syracuse, Marist, Trinity, Cornell (HEOP), and a few other places. So not like I'm trying to get into community colleges.

Of course if I fail it doesn't help... but is that something that's a complete dealbreaker? If I do fail, how do I even begin to explain ._____.

If you fail, the game’s over. I am sorry that it has come to this point for you.

I’d study as much as possible so that I could get a 83 on the midterm. I had this same situation happen to me junior year in precalc. I had a F going into the final and needed a C or something to get a D in the class. I went to my teacher everyday after school for help. Better late than never.
