Need Help ASAP, Failing Course

Hi everyone, so I'm having a huge problem with Ap Calc BC. Senioritis seemed to only be effecting me with this class and I now have around a 40%. I've already been accepted to UC Santa Barbara and I checked there admissions rules and it just says I can't fail any a-g courses which I hope calc isn't because I've already completed all my credits for math. I've got A's and b's in all my other courses (Ap gov, Ap macro Econ and construction tech 2) and I got A's in Ap calc AB last semester, but for some reason BC is getting the best of me. I'm trying to raise the grade so hopefully that happens but there is a chance I might get a D or an F. I could switch out of the course but the school would give me a "drop f grade" which doesn't sound that much better. If I do fail the course and pass all my other ones what will likely happen? Also I'm signed up for the Ap exam in may, would the school maybe still accept me if I was to pass the exam but fail the class? I'm really stressed out and I'm starting to have problems sleeping cause this is all I think about anymore.

I don’t know if this differs for UCs, but I was under the impression that you had to get Cs in all classes not just a-g, sorry this isn’t good news :(. Maybe your teacher would give you extra credit opportunities if you stayed after class to get extra help, to show how hard you’re trying? You should talk to your college counselor at you school to make sure of the policies at ucsb, maybe even call their admissions department to talk to them about your situation. Get some sleep! That won’t help your grade, even though it’s easier said than done. Just try to relax and make a schedule of what you need to do every week and even everyday if it helps. You seem to really care so I think you’ll be able to bring your grade up, just don’t worry too much! Good luck and I hope this helped you!

Try watching some of the Khan Academy online videos for Calc BC–sometimes seeing something explained by a different person in a different way can provide a breakthrough.

Can you find a tutor, another ma teacher at school? That’s what my daughter did. Other teachers had different hours and it getting help from another teacher whom explained it differently was really helpful.

Does your school have peer tutors? Not sure what your budget is but can you afford outside tutor?
