i got myself in a quite a predicament and I was wondering if anyone out there could be kind enough to answer a question for me. Please, don't answer if you're not sure what you are talking about.

So, I applied to UCSD and their Tag program.

I'm in dangers of failing 2 classes. Intro to computer science(transferable/assist page course)
and trigonometry(non-transferable/prerequisite)

However, my GPA will still be above 3.0 even if I fail.
in the worst case scenario, I'll have to retake them.
But the thing that is bothering me is, Will my TAG be denied/rejected/revoked/?

According to the UCSD web site you have to maintain a 3.0 GPA but it is does not say anything about failing a course making you ineligible for TAG. So as long as you can keep a 3.0 GPA you would appear to be able to get and keep your TAG. The only possible problem I saw was that you had to complete your UCSD math class by the end of Fall 2010. If Trigonometry is your UCSD math class and you fail it you will probably have your TAG denied or revoked.

@CURI0US: You’ll be fine. Your fall grades are the last grades that are counted when reviewing your TAG app, so retaking them isn’t going to do anything to increase your chances of being admitted.

If/when you’re offered admission, you will be required to maintain a 2.0 for spring/summer semesters and your GPA can’t dip below a 3.0 cumulative. So if you take two classes in the spring and fail one while getting a C in the other, you’ll drop below a 2.0 for that semester and your TAG will be revoked. I wouldn’t retake the courses unless you’re sure you’ll have over a 2.0 in each semester and still maintain a 3.0 cumulative.
