Transfer student accepted as an undergraduate transfer to UCI as a Biological Sciences major with ~3.4 GPA.

Among a few others, my transfer conditions were to earn at least a C in Bio 185 (Diversity of Organisms) and a B in Chem 185 (Gen Chem 2).

While all of my other requirements have been met, I was only able to earn a C in Chem 185. Does this mean I'm no longer admitted to UCI? Is there any way to improve my grade before transferring or am I just completely screwed?

Call them and find out. It’s really up to them.

You’ll definitely have to contact them. I believe things like these are taken as a case by case basis, but they specifically required at least a C grade for the transfer conditions. If they still accept you anyway, then you’re a very luck person.

I was hoping someone would have personal experience in this kind of situation. I’ve already e-mailed my professor explaining everything and asking her for an opportunity to improve my grade as I was very close to a B. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

When they do that they’re trying to push you into a minimum GPA on certain required classes.

I actually had something similar happen and was told I’d probably be SOL if I didn’t get the B I needed in a class. After a long talk it turned out I had taken a “required class” that they didn’t notice and that was enough to make my GPA in those classes ok.

So you might want to review your classes and check that Best of luck!
