Fairfield University Class of 2024

@basilwat we received just over $42K including a $25K Magis scholarship.

@otherhood2020 OMG That is fantastic…Your S or D must have had fabulous grades…Congratulations!!

We or my S applied ED2 so we are still anxiously waiting!

@basilwat She did. She’s had straight A’s/4.0 uw, for seven semesters, one more to go. Her weighted is 4.something. I cannot remember, 4.6 maybe. Rigorous Catholic high school.

Good luck on your ED2 decision!! Is Fairfield your S’s top choice?

@otherhood2020…Fantastic! It is…He goes to a Private High School that has had quite a few kids go to Fairfield and his grades are good…I think he should get in but you never know…He did get in to LSU as well…Night and Day LOL

@basilwat I’m looking now, to book flights for the admitted student event in April.

@otherhood2020 where are you coming from? I am in NJ…My neighbor’s son goes there now and he loves it…They are building new townhouses for the juniors this year and the seniors live in housing on the beach LOL and her other son is committed after his senior year next year for baseball…

@otherhood2020 and @basilwat my son is a sophomore business major at Fairfield. The new townhouses were finished last September and are beautiful. My son has already found a house to rent near the beach for senior year. Him and his roommates are very excited. My son has also decided to stay for a 5th year to get his Master. Please let me know if you have any questions. Also if you’re not already a member please join the Parents of Interested/Just Accepted Students Facebook group.

@basilwat We are in Seattle. We are originally from Long Island. My D’s want to go to school on the east coast. We were there for like three weeks in July for college tours, but didn’t have a chance to stop in CT. My brother is familiar with the area there and he loves it. We had a friend visit the school while they were there for a volleyball tournament a couple of years ago, and she said she loved the campus. Have you been there?

My gut is telling me, this is the school. Can’t wait to visit and hopefully finalize a decision. Fairfield has been the most generous. Loyola MD was also generous. My D’s also applied to Fordham, but their financial package was horrible.

As I’ve stated in previous posts, my S has been accepted to the business school with the Loyola scholarship ($17k/year). His dad and I both attended Fairfield (our 30th reunion is this summer!) and loved it. I was a business major and lived at the beach junior and senior years (just a few miles away). My husband lived in a Townhouse and was an Engineering major. It’s a beautiful campus and the town is very quaint. A great “main” street with lots of shops, restaurants, movie theatre, etc. Plus there’s a train station that can take you to NYC in a little over an hour. We’ll be attending the accepted student day on April 5th.

WOOHOO! He got in…He just got the email! Now, when do we find out about $$$…LOL

@“IMPATIENT MOM” We will most likely be attending April 5th as well!

@basilwat Congrats to your son!!!

@basilwat Congratulations to your son!!
What is his major?

@ABC2024 He is Undeclared Business at Dolan…He is still trying to figure it all out LOL

@basilwat. Congrats!! Scholarship money was included in the letter which he downloaded from the portal

@“IMPATIENT MOM” it wasn’t in ours but it was pointed out to me by another mom who said the same thing that since we are ED2 they may be waiting on EA peeps to accept or decline…I hope that is the case…

it’s a beautiful school; we haven’t heard from them yet

UGH we got ZERO money…ZERO~!!! What the heck?? I put in the appeal and sent an email…Just crazy!! So disappointed…

@basilwat don’t give up yet. I knew a parent whose 2nd child was accepted but did not get any money. She appealed and he ended up getting merit scholarship which was enough for him to attend.
