Thank you!! That’s unweighted & 7 APs. Also lots of political involvement and works in local gov’t.
Wow. Impressive! Will you attend Fairfield do you think?
Thank you so much!! Yes it’s my top choice
DD got into Nursing with 22k merit
Test optional

Competitive CT high school
My daughter was deferred too for nursing with similar stats, shadowing and weekly volunteering. She also did not submit scores. I think this year was more competitive than ever for nursing. She has other options as well. All the best to those accepted during EA.
DD accepted with 18K merit

I have to say I’m really surprised, daughter was deferred with a 33 ACT, 4.3 W GPA, Lots of extra curricular stuff. I don’t get it.
That is very surprising. Was it for the nursing program?
No, biology
I honestly feel like that could be a mistake. Those stats are certainly well within/ above their range. Maybe worth a quick email to the admissions counselor to inquire why? I read on a Facebook forum today about a student who was not offered anticipated merit and when they asked why they realized his GPA had been incorrectly added in the system. You never know. And this is 2020 so…
@SWMomMA Do you recall whether they contacted the AO or the financial aid office?
She had said it was their assigned admissions counselor
S accepted into business school. 4.4 gpa. Handful of AP’s. Well respected all boys Catholic prep school in NJ. National Honor Society. Silver medal, Natl Spanish Exam one year. Founded a sports club at school. Ski & Snowbord Club. Not a lot of community svc but quality. Great sports recognition (soccer): HS team is usually top 30 in country, state champs, captain of club team that has trained and played internationally, winning a European tourney. Good recs. 18k/yr scholarship w a name I cannot find anywhere on school site.
We were shocked that our daughter wasn’t accepted EA Nursing. 1500 SAT, 4.5 wgpa, 6 AP. Tons of extra curriculars, hospital shadowing, jobs, varsity cheer captain. She was accepted to her top choice nursing school and is going there, but this seemed odd. Hey it’s 2020!
@Njcollegemomx3 same thing happened to my d21 applying f for nursing 4.2uw 4 w, EIC, 200+ volunteer, hospital volunteer and varsity athlete Deferred but got into her first choices with $.
Fairfield is one of my daughter’s top choices but disappointed in hearing some of the latest developments. Living at the beach as a senior was mentioned during our tour and was a big draw for my “beach girl” but my friend has a son who is a current junior and although he is in excellent standing was put on a waitlist to be released off campus. She just shared this petition with me.

NJCollegemom: Must be some sort of mistake(?)
Wow…that is surprising. I do wonder if a touch of yield protection is at play here? Saying this with a daughter that was accepted to the nursing with scholarship money with slightly lesser test stats. I feel like 2020 has just thrown everyone a curve ball.
My Daughter was deferred. 3.7 GPA 2 AP, 4 honors, 3 sport athlete and captain, in 7 other clubs at school. Attends all girls private college prep school in Pennsylvania. Very strong resume and has been accepted to all 5 other schools she applied with multiple scholarships. Kind of confused, oh well she will not be going to Fairfield.
