What other schools was your daughter accepted to? Good luck to her - it sounds like she’ll thrive wherever she goes.
penn state, delaware, loyola, james madison and fordham
@tomandrews4 my child was deferred @ Fordham w/similar stats and accepted Fairfield. I feel like it’s total crapshoot. Did you have test scores? We opted not to submit.
My son is a junior and Fairfield has way more to offer than seniors living at the beach. Yes it is nice but there are some disadvantages too like many rentals are very very expensive and the relationship with the locals that live their year round is strained at best especially due to Covid safety protocols. They have also built almost 200 new single rooms in townhouses for seniors that are absolutely gorgeous.
Yes, Fairfield definitely has more to offer than senior beach living. However, the beach is a draw … and hopefully by the time my daughter is a senior the Covid protocols will not be a factor. Beach living was mentioned on our tour. My friend’s son is really upset right now … and I don’t blame him.
no we did not submit.
Seems like a lot of the disappointments I’m seeing here involve kids that did not submit test scores, even though all their other qualifications were outstanding.
Random question: can student pick their dorms and/or roommates?
Dorms are randomly assigned. Normally freshman cannot choose their roommates. Last year due to covid they let freshman request a roommate.
do you know if they can chose their roommates this year too?
I don’t believe so but not 100% sure.
Question for those parents here who already have a child at Fairfield. Did you run the net price caluclator prior to admit and if so how accurate was it? When we run it the result is very favorable but I just can’t imagine we will qualify for that amount.
Other schools NPC have been right on for us so far. Fingers crossed this is accurate.
I’m wondering the same.
My son received $26k. 4.27Uw, 1400, 6 honor societies, 4 year athlete, many community service hours, tutor.
Ty! And congratulations to your son! May I ask how they figure out an unweighted gpa that is over 4.0? I thought anything over a 4.0 had to be weighted? I guess every school is different? It is so hard trying to compare apples to apples!
I’m so sorry - that was a typo on my part. It’s actually 4.27 weighted. I tried to edit when i realized it but i had a technical issue with the site and the edit didn’t go through. I was afraid that would be misleading. sorry again!
Does anyone know when they release the regular decisions?
Oh gosh. Please no apologies. I see the unweighted above 4.0 a lot and just can’t figure it out. Congratulations again! I LOVED Fairfield when we toured.
Last year it was March 16th.
does anyone know when financial aid packets are sent out?
