<p>Hey everyone! I'm currently a senior in high school & am going to apply to FDU for nursing. I haven't gotten a chance to visit FDU yet so I'm wondering, which campus is better? If you have or know anyone who has visited the campus, please share pros and cons of each :) </p>
<p>Also, do I need to apply to each campus separately? On Naviance, both campuses are added individually so I think I do... :/</p>
<p>I’d like to know as well. I applied for the Florham campus. I’d pick one if I were you - you end up sending your scores and transcript to Teaneck no matter which one you choose. </p>
<p>I can only speak to the Florham campus as my S is currently attending. The campus is beautiful and located very close to public transportation (train) to NYC. The town of Madison is a very short shuttle ride from campus and has many shops, restaurants, movie theatre etc. it is a relatively small college with about 2500 undergrads. If you are looking for small class sizes you will find it here. FDU is one of 3 colleges right next to each other. The other 2 being Drew and College of St. Elizabeth. My son commutes so I can not give much info on campus living, but they always seem to have a lot planned for resident students. As far as nursing, I think only the Teaneck campus offers nursing degree. The Teaneck campus has about 4000 undergrads so it larger than Florham. I would strongly suggest visiting both. Having been through the college search twice, I felt touring a campus was a vital part in both my kids decisions. As cliche as it sounds, you will get a feel for if it is the right place for you. <p>@writerjordan, I sent my priority application in for the metropolitan (teaneck) one. I’m not sure if I want to apply to Florham but I’m going to email my college admissions counselor and ask if we can apply to both. I’ll let you one once he replies

<p>@bzylizy, thank you for the info!! My parents haven’t gotten a chance to take me to FDU yet, although we have toured a bunch of other colleges. Both campuses sound really nice and both have direct entry nursing (admissions counselor told me). If I went to Madison, I could commute since it’s literally only 13 minutes away from my house. The Teaneck campus is 30 minutes away, so I would probably dorm. Hmm… I’ll have to visit soon, maybe next week. </p>

<p>@writerjordan Go on college board and search Fairleigh Dickinson. It’ll tell you what the diversity ratios are. I know for a fact that the metropolitan campus is more diverse than the florham one b/c the metropolitan one is closer to the city and attracts more students with different backgrounds. A college admissions counselor told me that too. </p>
<p>@writerjordan i emailed a college counselor about this and he said that they strongly encourage students to not apply to both campuses. this is because both campuses for the most part accept students equally, so if you can get in at one campus, you can probably get in at the other one too. not for all majors, but he said this applies to most. </p>

DS is just starting 11th grade and he is a C+ / B- student. GPA at the end of 10th grade was a 2.98. He has
some LD issues and we’re expecting his ACTs will be 20 - 21. Also we are hopeful he can raise his GPA to a 3.1 or 3.2. With this info, would admission to Fairleigh Dickinson be a stretch ?
@dspflyer Hmm… I think the admissions counselors would take the fact that he has some LD issues into consideration when reviewing his application, but I’m not sure what their exact admissions requirements are. The requirements may be slightly different if he’s interested in a specific major too, so I would say that the best way to find out would be to email admissions or call their number to ask. I’d also recommend that your son tries his best to go up 1 or 2 grades (so maybe like a B-/B/B+) in 11th & 12th grade. Admissions counselors like to see an upward trend in grades if they’re a little low originally because it shows that the student was really trying his/her best to improve. Good luck to your son! 
Yes that is our hope. It’s been only about 5-6 weeks into 11th grade and while a rocky start, his teacher conferences definitely indicated in all classes that he is understanding more than his assessments are indicating. I am hopeful but also it is more evident than ever he has a lot of test anxiety. We are hopeful he can maintain a 3.0 at the lowest going forward. Thank you.
