Joaoa,

Getting into a philiosophy PhD program is a tough task. Hope that some of those PhD options pan out for you. If they don't, you can always go get an MPhil at Cambridge, which is far from being a bad backup plan.

I'm still waiting for the decision....
but I have a strong feeling that I will be rejected after I looked up the profiles of accepted students from previous years.
Man I hate this....

Pearly, what kinds of programs?

jmleadpipe, thank you for the kind and helpful post.

The only problem with the MPhil at Cambridge is that so far I have not obatianed any financial aid...

I would like yo to tell me: getting to a philosophy PhD program is tough compared to what?

3.95 major gpa/3.85 overall; double-major in math; 2.5 yrs of research (1 for nasa, 1 for government, 1 for prof); TA for an important class, 2 awesome internships, co-author on a pending patent, no papers, gre = 760M/470V/5.5W.

oh well, i guess im going to ucla and somehow paying it all on my own.

ct, I wonder what the deal is with NYU. I also applied to a PhD program there and never heard back. I've written several times to make sure that they received my materials and to let them know that another program needed an answer from me, but I never heard a peep.
