I updated my fall 2008 grades today on the uc grade update site. I am kinda worried because on the update application only the fall 2008, spring 2009, and summer 2009 terms were included as my courses. This would make sense to me, since it is an update application and my other grades are in the initial application, however, at the bottom it says that I must certify that these are all the courses that I have taken. I just wanted to make sure that all my grades prior to fall 2008 were not lost in the update application. Did you guys experience the same thing?

No, your grades prior to fall 2008 are not lost in the update application. Your update application will only list the fall 08, spring 09, and summer 09 slots.

If you login to your full application that you filled out before (https://admissions.ucop.edu/pathwaysF2009/Pathways), you will see that your prior grades are listed.

The grade update is simply that - updating of your fall '08, and listing future coursework in progress for your spring '09 and summer '09 terms.

Don't worry. :)

Your grades are not lost. The application update is more like a supplement. These are additional forms that the UCs will review when making their decision. Assuming the initial application was submitted by the deadline, your biographical information, course grades prior to Fall 2008, and personal statements have already been received.

should we plan on taking a course in the summer? And if you dont take any courses in the summer what should you put in the comments cause it wont let u just list no classes

I said "I don't need the summer term to complete any courses"

what if im not sure if im going to take a class or not? i might just take an elective class just to kill time or something lol. i dont even know the schedule for summer yet, so what should i do? just write that im not planning on taking it?

these are the kinds of things you should know if you are serious about transferring this year

i am serious about transferring. I wanted to take a fun class during the summer and wasn't sure what to do.

can someone please link me to the grade update site

oh wait, nevermind I found the website. Another question!

: I plan on taking a summer course at UC Davis (the college I wish to transfer to). When adding a summer class, however, I only have the option of selecting from my college (UC Santa Cruz). should I actually add UC Davis to my list of colleges in the beginning so I can choose from it? Or just explain in the writing section ?

i cant find the website, can someone plz pm me or post it

there's no link on this one:

by the end of March, i'll have 62 semester units and 4 quarter units (due to a math class taken at UCLA).

how many "total units" do i have?

https://admissions.ucop.edu/wip/login.do

pinkerfloyd - google quarter to semester unit conversion

i believe you multiply your semester units by 1.5 ... i could be wrong but i'm most certain i have seen that somewhere. Hope that helps! :)

1 semester unit = 1.5 quarter units, Therefore 62 S units + 4 Q Units equals
97 Quarter Units
64.67 Semester Units.

thanks.

anyone able to finish the fourth step on the myBerkeleyApp yet?

is there any known advantage to updating sooner than later?

The fourth step will only be "completed" once your application update has been processed by Berkeley.

Thanks so much.

If you decide to make additional updates after submitting your Application Update simply return and update again. The update form usually stays open until sometime in March; hopefully, you will know your summer courses before it closes.

You will need to submit the update form at least once before the deadlines given by the campuses you applied to.
