Does anyone have any insight into my rejection?

Disregard my last post! I posted this on the wrong forum

That almost gave me a heart attack^^

Curious, wich UC denied You?

Collegecarolz, if it was Santa Cruz, I am shocked and have no idea why you were denied.

my phone number was not in the Triton Link.

they also called my house # not cell #

i guess i could rattle off some of my info for comparative purposes, by request, but i’m not usually one to do that

^^ yes can you please give us some of your stats

popeyoung, it was ucsc. Collegecarolz, they’re high.

Yea, They must have been lookin for fluent in Jamaican MAN!

@collegecarolz

SD denied your admission?

how did you find out?

they just said it was in the wrong forum.

GPA
unweighted ~3.9
weighted ~4.6

SAT I’s = not too high, so that might surprise people but idk (> 1900, not to be specific)

something to note - my SAT I score’s don’t represent me, I’m just a bad SAT taker, should have taken ACT though - took a practice test and destroyed it…

SAT II’s
750 Chem
720 Math II

Lot of APs (score of 5) and a heavily stacked Science background

Extra curricular’s = showed leadership, maturity, intelligence, and intense passion for what I do- my activities truly showed devotion/hard work.

Essay - I truly wrote a great essay, and i put effort into making it something that I can honestly say I am proud of.

congrats dtc!

I went on to the myTritonLink and clicked the housing application and it says my admisssion status won’t let me fill out the application for the term, lol, i guess it’s a sign :(

@vizy93 you have to be accepted to be able to fill it out so dont worry!
so i dont think anyone has been able to fill out, even those that got the call unless their admissions status was already updated…which i dont think it has

dont think that way!..even when I log in, it still tells me you application is being reviewed -even if you get a “call” you have to wait to see anything specific - they will most likely post them at the end of the week/beginning of next week, from what i’ve heard.

Sorry if this has been asked before but are they calling all accepted students or only the top ones? in other words if i dont get a call does that mean im not in for sure??

@dtc7733, when they called you was it a real person or a robot informing you about your acceptance?

okay, it was a real person, an admissions officer.

Now, thinking logically, I doubt that they call EVERY accepted student, that would be an immensely arduous task. Now, i have no idea how they determine which students that are accepted receive a call.

@dtc7733

You don’t have to be all defensive about your SAT score. It’s just a random ******** test in my opinion. Nobody is going to say “Oh this person got a whatever whatever on the SAT? They definitely aren’t going to get anywhere in life”. I got a 1780 on my first try and a 1830 on my second try. I probably should have studied for it, but hey, I’m at UCSD now so no worries. Same thing with the high school you went to (not that you were saying anything about that, but just as a general statement). Sometimes I wonder if people think that because they went to a high school that sent a lot of kids to great universities that they get some magical privileges that other kids here don’t get. Once you get here, you’re pretty much on level playing ground with everybody else, unless of course your school just really didn’t prepare you for classes here, but there’s also time to study hard and catch up.
